What More Can I Add

by Thomas O'Connell

Where I lived my life

The known way was an impasse

Acres between us

The martyrs to the sunrise

Reading Sunday newspapers

Dreams that we could not afford

Shadows on shadows

Nature is ordinary

I cannot fix it

Heroes when we were children

Would deliver wide eyed springs

                                           What more can I add
